instrument cluster stopped working

There is a known concern (TSB (technical service bulletin) 06-17-09) that addresses instrument cluster failure. It says there may be an internal solder joint that has failed in the cluster, requiring replacement. I do not know if this is the problem you are having, but it sounds very close. The fix is to replace the cluster. Recommend a diagnostic test with a full function diagnostic computer (recommend Ford IDS).
