Driver Air Bag in Steering Wheel and sides did not open w/crash of front end of car

I had a bad accident hitting my front end into the back bumper of another vehicle. The Air Bags on my 2005 Ford Five Hundred did not deploy upon impact. Nor did my Side Air Bags as I understand I have w/this vehicle. My vehicle was totalled & I have pics of vehicle damage shows my Steering Wheel in tact. My Front End very bad yet can't figure why Air Bags didn't open. I hit the steering wheel full force & got severe Chest & Knee Contusions. Anyone else with this problem on the 2005 Ford Fiver Hundred? Any Recalls? Otherwise loved this vehicle..Miss it!! I'm thankful I was not on the Interstate going 50+ MPH.... God & His Angels were w/me for sure. In fact, my Insurance Agent said & my husband said they just heard night before of some Ford vehicles whose Air Bags did not deploy upon impact and should have. So never got notice of any Recalls, were there for problems w/Air Bags? Thanks much.
