Hello, I was with a Ford Truck dealership from the time this engine was introduced (2003) through it's entire run, and I can tell you -- there isn't a thing I can help you with in this forum. There are so many possibilities here, and you simply need to have a proper Ford IDS diagnostic tool (or equivalent) so that you can retrieve any diagnostic trouble codes and monitor various components for data. This, as well as the technical resources of all the service bulletins that were released over the years is critical in diagnosing and repairing this engine. Also important to know: have there been any modifications to your factory equipped 2006 6.0L Power Stroke Diesel? Modifications of any kind (bypassing EGR cooler, and so forth) changes the game as well. Ed, seek guidance from an expert who has had years of experience working on this engine.
