Unfortunately, there is no way to build oil pressure in this engine unless the crankshaft is turning since the oil pump is a gerotor type on the front of the crank. I know that some technicians crank the engine with the oil filter off (on top of engine) while holding down the drainback valve to watch when oil pressure makes it up to the high pressure pump system. It does have to crank for a while to build up so, strong batteries are recommended. Starters seem to hold up well on this engine.
