Thanks dandd. I'm not very auto savy. Just what is "carbon pile?" I did take the truck in and had the batteries tested by the dealer. They claimed my batteries and charging systems were fine.

A carbon pile test is a high resistance used to "load test" a battery. Load testing and checking the hydrometer readings are two very valuable tests for a battery.
