My F-350 super duty the batteries run down I have some kind of short and when it shorts out it drains batteries but I can gas on the engine and it will quit shorting out

I usually have to jump start the truck and after I started within a few minutes the gauges will quit working the tachometer everything no mileage light like there's a short somewhere I get in it and step on the gas pedal and rev it up and it takes a minute but the gauges will come on and the short quits sometimes going down the road it does the same thing but it always drains my batteries
What makes this problem better or worse?
The gauges start working again and it quit shorting out when I give it a lot of fuel throttle
