What is the head bolts torque sequence and specs

Hi, I'm one of the auto experts on RepairPal's Car Genius team! The head bolt pattern and toque spec will vary depending on which engine you have. With the vehicle information you provided, using AllData, the following are the specs shown. If you have the 6.2L Gasoline Engine: Bolt pattern: 1 is the center of the block on the top, 2 is center of the block bottom. 3 and 4 are the two bolts to the right of the center ones (3 on top, 4 on bottom), 5 and 6 are the two to the left of center bolts. And then finally 7 and 8 are the two at the end towards the front of the engine, and 9 &10 are the two at the backend of the engine. So if you’re looking at the engine it will look like this: 9 5 1 3 7 10 6 2 4 8 Install the cylinder head and the new bolts and tighten in 7 stages. * Stage 1: Tighten bolts 1 through 10 to: 25 Nm (18 lb-ft) * Stage 2: Tighten bolts 1 through 10 to: 75 Nm (55 lb-ft) * Stage 3: Loosen: 180° * Stage 4: Tighten bolts 1 through 10 to: 25 Nm (18 lb-ft) * Stage 5: Tighten bolts 1 through 10 to: 50 Nm (37 lb-ft) * Stage 6: Tighten bolts 1 through 10 an additional: 90° * Stage 7: Tighten bolts 1 through 10 an additional: 90° If you have the 6.7L Diesel Turbo Engine: lightly lubricate the new 12 mm cylinder head bolt threads and flanges with clean engine oil. Install the 22 cylinder head bolts till they are finger tight. The bolt pattern is a little complicated with 5 rows of bolts from back of head to the front. When looking at it it should look like this: 21 19 20 22 15 11 13 17 7 3 5 1 9 8 4 6 2 10 16 12 14 18 Tighten the cylinder head bolts in 8 stages, in the sequence shown. * Stage 1: Tighten bolts 1 through 18 to 19 Nm (168 lb-in). * Stage 2: Tighten bolts 1 through 18 to 49 Nm (36 lb-ft). * Stage 3: Tighten bolts 1 through 18, a second time to 49 Nm (36 lb-ft). * Stage 4: Tighten bolts 1 through 18, a third time to 49 Nm (36 lb-ft). * Stage 5: Tighten bolts 1 through 18, an additional 90 degrees. * Stage 6: Tighten bolts 1 through 18, a second time, an additional 90 degrees. * Stage 7: Tighten bolts 1 through 18, a third time, an additional 90 degrees. * Stage 8: Tighten bolts 19 through 22 to 30 Nm (22 lb-ft). Please note that regardless of engine you should only use head bolts one time as they are tighten to yield bolts, so you should be using new ones. Hope this helps!
