06 ford f 250 superduty turbo diesel 6.0 4x4 not engaging

Check the transfer case motor. The newer Ford trucks have had issues with them.

i have noticed on my truck I occaisionally have to put it in reverse then back in drive if I have been hauling to get it to go into 4 x 4 mode.
