What is your question?
I recently bought a 1999 F250 with V10. 2x4 long bed. Once tyhe truck is warm. The engine will accelerate randomly and will either no shift up or will shift rather abruptly. In neutral the car will continue to keep it rpms up..never really past 3000rpms. Put it in park and it idles normally. Once it starts to happen and after I pull it over and start driving again-it doesn't want to shift up. There are a couple of notable things that mnay influence things, or may not...the exhaust was cut off just after the two O2 sensors and the Shift handle is broken, OD is broken off with expose wires and there is a lot of play in the shifter arm...it can be difficult to find park or any gear at times. Any advice would be helpful and I appreciate it
What makes this problem better or worse?
worse when warmed up..no problem at idle

Hello, hardest part -- you need to repair the vehicle to "factory" condition regarding the shift lever and switch as well as the exhaust system. It's essential to get rid of these variables so that proper diagnostic testing can be performed to resolve any remaining problems. It's literally impossible to guess further without hands on testing being performed. www.repairpal.com/repair-shops
