What is your question?
Due to make long trip with fifth wheel rv. I would like to know I could depend on engine brake when I need it. When I turn it on now no reaction . Dealer told me I would only feel or hear brake when I needed it . 2019 ford 350.

Hello, for your 2019 Transit 350, you'll need to consult your dealership for hands on further evaluation. There's no info here that can help. You have a factory warranty that helps. I'm not entirely sure that a 2019 Transit 350 has a "Jake brake" -- rather maybe a "tow haul" mode? Again, your dealership can educate you on the features of your vehicle and is in the absolute best position to explain operating better than anyone in this forum.
I've tried the dealership but they know about as much as l do. I can only guess they must not sell many super duty trucks. 2019 ford 350
The factory optional engine brake, as equipped, can be turned to the following functional positions: On, Off and Auto. This restricts the Diesel engine's turbocharger exhaust flow, creating exhaust back pressure which slows the vehicle before even the engagement of brakes or downshifting of the transmission. You will know it is working when you feel the resistance kick in once the load and grade is of a significant enough amount. Otherwise, it will still work, but it's variable in affect felt due to the natural inertia of an unladen truck verses that of one towing the fifth wheel.
