In warmer weather especially the van won't start again after being turned off

When you say it doesn't even make a click, it makes me feel like you have a charging system or battery issue. No click means no power to start the engine via the battery and connections, or even via the starter itself. A starting and charging system diagnosis is in order, starting with the battery.
