why dose my van keep shutting off on me?

An engine needs three things to run, fuel spark and mechanical integrity. If it runs fine most of the time the engine is most likely mechanically sound then it is down to fuel and spark. You need a workshop manual and a wiring diagram and volt meter ( problem is most likely electrical, a relay wiring or sensor of some description).
