What is your question?
I'm trying to install an HEI distributor on my 74 Ford Galaxie 500. I Know that i need to eliminate the existing resistance wire and run a solid 12v hot wire from the ignition source. The trouble is, there doesn't seem to be a promising place to do that from either the ignition switch or the fuse box. All tests with a multimeter show that either the voltage goes dead upon ignition (I'm assuming those are accessories) or the voltage drops from 12.5 on average to around 9.5 during cranking... I've attempted an end run around this by trying to run a 12 volt with a kill switch from the battery to the distributor, but the same results occur... very hesitant cranking when distributor is plugged up and a reading on the multimeter showing that even at the battery there is a drop in voltage during cranking from 12.5 to around 9.4-5 volts. The battery is a fresh one. please help!
