I recently had a mechanic take a look at my car to determine what was causing my antifreeze to leak. He told me that I needed a new radiator hose and a gear manifold. The hose I can handle, but what did he mean by gear manifold? I can't find any information on that particular part.

There is no such thing, you didn't hear him right. The intake manifolds warp and leak on these cars. You need to decide if it's worth fixing, it won't be cheap.
