Engine missing and makes a popping sound

Usually upon acceleration the enging seems to be missing. It will make a popping sound, and feels like a slight stall, and I can feel the gas pedal jump a bit. It seems to do it less when the OD is turned off but it still does it some. Most noticably on climbs and from stops.
