no ignition on #8 cylinder

I want to be sure I understand your question. You have no spark on number 8? Did you happen to test this with a spark tester or are you getting a misfire code for number 8? When you say the coil, can I assume that this engine has 1 coil per cylinder? ( I am not near my manuals) Please let me know and I will continue to try and help you with your issue.
