Will not crank
What is your question?
The truck would not start after I made a stop yesterday. I went and replaced both batteries, it got me home. I replaced the alternator, it cranked easily. Cut it off, then it would not crank. What could this be?

I own the same 1998 24 valve turbo diesel model and I would say the starter is probably beginning to fail since you changed both batteries and the alternator, How was the battery gauge when driving home? If it was dropping down to the 8 to 10 volt range you might have a defective alternator. And make sure those battery cables are free of corrosion and tight.
