My 1998 Dodge Ram 2500 Diesel has been having issues with the idle. When you first start the truck, it will idle at about 700 RPM and flunctuate up to about 1000 RPM and back down again repeatedly. When the truck is put into reverse, it immediately idles even lower and sometimes will even stall out. The same thing happens in drive, but most of the time when the truck is in neutral or park, there are no issues with it stalling out. Any ideas as to what the problem could be?

1995 Dodge Ram 2500 Here's Timbo's web page as he's the Dodge Diesel expert http://mopar.mopar1973man.com/index.htm I've used him for diagnosing problems on my 1998 Dodge 24valve Diesel and when my truck had idle problems it was always the electric throttle position sensor failing and Dodge replaced mine twice at a cost of $700 each Then I found Timbo's web page and purchased his Apps ( Throttle postion sensor ) and never had problems since
