shifter stuck in reverse won't turn over or shift

sounds like your body mounts maybe rusting away... see if you have clearance on your shift rod from tranny to column. the cab, could be sitting on the linkage... happened to my 1992 dakota..... had to use 2 hands to get it into park. if not rusty, then look for loose or bent linkage, or loose connections at tranny or column. sometimes the plactic bushing wear out-then fall out, and throws geometery off enough, it jams.
