What is your question?
545rfe trans out of a 2008 ram 1500 has a slight clicking sound coming from trans and is sluggish shifting on one gear shift I think it’s 2-3 or 3-4 but then shifts after I apply a little more gas and also drops rpm at 40mph to 1100 which seems low to me because it doesn’t have power till I press the gas harder and it downshifts to about 2300 rpm Dodge Ram transmission
What makes this problem better or worse?
Turning off overdrive on the column shifter makes the noise quiet down lots and makes the shifting perfect
How long has your 2008 Dodge Ram 1500 had this problem?
Since owning the truck since august of 2023

Hi, this is Bo, an auto expert on RepairPal's Car Genius team! The clicking sound and sluggish shifting in the 545RFE transmission could be due to several issues. It might indicate a problem with worn or damaged transmission components like gears or synchronizers. Low transmission fluid level or dirty fluid can also cause shifting issues. Have the transmission fluid level and condition checked, and consider a professional diagnosis to identify the specific issue and prevent further damage.
