Hello, There are a few things this light can represent: -Throttle control malfunction -Traction control issues (when the traction off light displays -cruise control issues, which will always accompany a throttle control issue, so throttle control issues must be diagnosed first The issues can arise from more than just the throttle control motor or the accelerator pedal. Keeping in mind that the throttle control system passes through the powertrain control module (PCM), the issue could be the throttle control motor, throttle position sensor, accelerator pedal assembly (for drive by wire), the PCM, wiring for those circuits, or even a fuse. Testing can be performed with a multimeter, but there is much room for error as the parameters will change with operating conditions. In order to diagnose the lightning bolt warning light, a professional scanner is typically needed, otherwise it is all guesswork. That all being said, anything from the battery to the throttle control motor can cause the fault as well. Even a slightly undercharged battery. Testing should begin at the battery and alternator, then move to the other components listed. This strategy will define the problem the quickest, especially if a scanner is used.
