What is your question?
Amended: Mileage: 24,000 Truck running normally, no known issues. Had a full vehicle inspection with oil change, etc about 2 weeks prior to incident. Filled up with gas, gauges didnt move. Check engine light came on. Took it to the dealer, they ran a computer diagnostic. Was told that we had a bad fuel pump and needed to be replaced, estimate $800. Could I suggest any other options before asking for the fuel pump to be replaced?

At 24k miles you should have no fuel pump probs. If this truck isn't still int the 3yr basic warranty it still would be damn close. I would contact the Dodge district or regional rep. if the dealer will not help you out on this. Be persistent. In any case $800 is way too much. You can get an after-market pump w/strainer for $250.
Thank you for your answer. What do you suggest I ask the dealer to ensure they are checking other issues besides just the fuel pump. National auto parts store put the fuel pump at $295, she told me Dodge parts were $398 for the pump. They had to order it as they did not have one. I will be able to contact them on Monday before they do any work. How do I find out who my regional/district Dodge rep is? My truck was purchased in February 2007, so the warranty is expired by the 3 year mark not the mileage mark. It is driven daily or every other day for a few miles, and we tow a small travel trailer on the weekends, within our tow capacity. It is a flex fuel vehicle.
