A/C Compressor Kicks Out at Idle Speed

What is your question?

I have a 2007 Dodge Ram 1500 w/ a 5.7L HEMI engine. The truck has been great up until 100,000 miles which happened last month. The biggest problem is that the A/C doesn't work when I am parked or at idle speed. It works fine when I am moving above 20mph. I live in Houston, Tx where it normally is 90 degrees with 100% humidity so this is a major problem! Any ideas before I take it into the shop and spend $1,000. Thanks, Matt Taylor

did you get an estimate already? for what?? sounds like the cooling fans for the condenser. Roy

No, I haven't got an estimate yet. I tried messing with the wiring going into the compressor and that seemed to fix it for a few days. I also tried to add freon yesterday but that didn't work. The condenser fan and compressor both kickout when idling but work fine above 20mph?

Sounds like the relay or the ECM is not controlling the fan correctly or possibly a problem with the one of pressure switches.
