What is your question?
I few years ago I bought a 05 Dodge Ram 1500 quad cab from a dealership. The dealership said it had keyless entry but they didnt have a remote. I need to know where the receiver is located. To know if they are telling the truth so I can get a new remote for it.

The module is about the size of a pack of cigarettes and is plugged directly into the back of the dash gauges assembly. You will need to access the rear of the instrument cluster to verify that it is there. Since you don't have the original key fob, the replacement will have to be programmed at the dealer using the DRB3t scanner. Personally, I would just get a new aftermarket fob and bring the truck in for programming. The second the tech plugs in his scanner, he'll know if the module is there or not. If it is, great. If not, just return the fob.
I also have a problem. Keyless was working fine till a month ago. Thought it was dead batteries in the fob but still nothing after replacing. Locksmith checked fob and said it's transmitting a strong signal so the problem is in the receiver. 2005 Dodge Ram Quad. Chilton repair manual claims there is a fuse or relay for it but there isn't one listed in the box. Do you have any advice? Thank you....Tim
I take it that both key remotes don't work, but the truck starts by turning the key. If it starts with the key, the SKREEM module is okay, but is probably locked up. Inside the under hood fuse box is the IOD fuse. You can't miss it because it is housed in a white plastic cover. Pull the IOD fuse and wait a few minutes before reinstalling it. This will reset the module.
Hi, Thank you for the quick reply. I did not have time to check this out until today. I can't find anything in the under hood fuse/relay box resembling or fitting that description. It's a 2005 4 door Ram 1500 with the 5.7 hemi. I bought it used in Sept. and it came with just one key and one fob. Since the fob stopped working, the panic alarm went off when I opened lock with the key, on several occasions, and silenced when I cranked it up. So something is still working in the system. other than that, it's a great running truck. I welcome any other ideas you may have....thanks again! Tim
Looking inside the fuse box, there are 3 rows of fuses. The upper row contain 1/2 inch square fuses of 30 to 50 amps. The second and third are smaller blade fuses. Following the line of square fuses, past the shorter third row of blades, you will see a screw that holds the fuse box down. Between the screw and the relay down from it is a yellow 20 amp blade fuse. That's the IOD. Pull it out for a few minutes. On some models, this socket has 3 slots. The left hole has "IGN" stamped near it, the right "BAT". Be sure the fuse is in the center slot, bridging over to the "BAT" side. "IGN" is only used for extended vehicle storage. If this doesn't do it, another trick is to turn the ignition of your car on and off eight times in 10 seconds. This rapid on-and-off starting and stopping of your car reprograms the signal between your keyless entry remote and your car's computer. But, try the fuse first. P.S. You will need to reset the time on the clock.
Thank you again but to no avail. The fuse you described actually has a black jacket (on my truck) on it making it difficult to remove. It is in socket 51 and is described as Cluster, Radio and Underhood lamp fuse- 20 amp. Nonetheless, I was able to remove it, check it and reinsert after waiting a few moments. There are only 2 others with any type of plastic around them and they are for the airbags. I also tried the on-off with the key but had no luck with either. Thank you again though for your interest....Tim
