Hello, I’m Pete from the Car Genius team at RepairPal. I’m sorry you’re dealing with this concern on your Dodge Ram. With a short in a wiring harness in some cases you can manually trace and inspect the harness, taking it out of the wiring loom as needed, to pinpoint the location of the short itself. This is usually the best route to help identify a wiring harness short. Once the short has been located it can then be determined if the harness can be repaired or if the harness itself will need to be replaced. If the harness is inspected and found to be o.k. then this can indicate in many cases that the short is inside the affected oxygen sensor itself or possibly inside the engine computer to where one of those components may need to be replaced to resolve this concern. I do recommend having your vehicle battery disconnected when inspecting for a short to make sure the short doesn't affect other wires or components to prevent further damage.
