What is your question?
Have a 2002 Dodge Ram 1500 and it keeps making a horrible crunching poppy kind of noise after driving it for about 10 to 15 minutes. (Sounds like if you put an aluminum can in the blender)The noise seems to be coming from the front passenger area. It does not appear to have any effect on steering or the motor at all. Just that horrible noise. I've replaced both of the front hub assemblies, the brake pads. I even put in a whole new front suspension and checked the rear deferential, which was fine. This noise came on slowly, but it started the day after I took it to have the oil changed. That was a year ago and I'm still trying to find the problem. I've stopped driving it though and I miss my truck.
What makes this problem better or worse?
It starts during acceleration.
How long has your 2002 Dodge Ram 1500 had this problem?
A year

Hi! This is Bo with Car Genius at RepairPal! Sounds like you've got some serious Gremlins in the works! It could be the transfer case if it's a 4WD but with noises, who knows! The best thing to do is take it to a mechanic and have them ride with you so they can hear the noise. Maybe they'll know just from sheer experience. Also, they can put it on a lift and try to replicate the noise while a tech underneath can try to pinpoint the origin. If you have any other questions feel free to call us at 877-913-1554! We'll be happy to find you a certified shop in your area.
