What is your question?
2001 dodge ram 1500 quad 5.9 magnum v8 4x4(front driveshaft is not installed though)46re transmission. Was backing up to turn around and all of a sudden with no warning or anything it just stopped moving tried putting it in drive and nothing same with 2 and 1 gears. It's an automatic also. It starts right up and runs fine just won't move at all. It's like it doesn't even kick into gear when shifting the gear shifter. Checked linkage looked fine. Fluid level is good and doesn't smell burnt. I'm a woman WI next to no experience and basically have 2 $23 to my name. Help.
What makes this problem better or worse?
Not sure it all happened suddenly with no warning signs.
How long has your 2001 Dodge Ram 1500 had this problem?
Let's see its happened about a month ago and is still sitting where it stopped moving at.

Hi, I'm sorry to say - there is no good news to share. It sounds like an internal transmission failure, or perhaps even a transfer case issue. It could be an electronic concern, but any way you look at it, some diagnostic testing is needed, and I know it's a hard time for that to happen for you. You may want to reach out to a shop near you. They may be able to offer you ideas on how to get back on track. But any way you look at it, some hands on testing and intervention is needed. https://repairpal.com/auto-repair-near-me Click the link or call us at 877-913-1554.
