While driving home yesterday the battery guage in my truck went all the way up to MAX. It stayed up at max while driving, when I would get to a light it would go back down to normal level but when I resumed driving it went back up to max. I tried to see if turning the AC off had any effect, it did not, I turned off any additional battery draining things (lights, radio, etc.) nothing had any effect. I drove 75 miles home on the interstate and the guage read max the entire time. When I got into town, at the first light it went down to normal..started driving and it shot back up. I made it back home, turned off the truck, tried to restart it, and nothing. The dashboard lights dont turn on, no bells or other starting noises, and when I turn the key I do not hear the normal clicking sound you hear when you have a dead battery. SO...is this the battery or the alternator or something else? Thanks So much
