I have a dodge ram when driving down the road all of a sudden it will start sputtering,& popping & loses power.sometimes bad sometimes not to bad,then it will run fine then all of a sudden it will do it again.sometimes it will do it all the way home and then sometime only for a min or so.sometimes we can take the truck and it runs just fine.any help would be much appreciated..thank you!!

HI! We finally found the reason for our problem and had it fixed for under $200. It was a bad oxygen sensor. :)
Thanks for the answer, I did have O2 codes. Mine is doing same thing. will replace O2 sensors. I even ended up with code 0320, with combined O2 codes. I even tested other coils to verify wasn't coil. Could tell was tuned up recently. I have to replace the O2 sensors anyways. One code is O2 heater, other code is O2 sensor high voltage. This is all makes sense thank you for the information.
HI! we have the same problem with our truck and it started 2 months ago. It feels like you are running out of gas but then it bucks and sputters and knocks and then it kicks in and drives fine. The engine light never comes on. We've had a tune up, new fuel pump(they thought we had a clogged fuel filter), and a new cat converter and still has the same problem. I'm hoping someone will have answer to this. Thanks so much! :)
I was struggling for words on how to explain what was happening to my truck (2001 Ram, 318), but both of you nailed it right on the head. I've done a full tune up too (distributor cap, wires, plugs, rotor). My uncle checked the fuel pressure at the fuel line, and all was good. There are also no codes. Seems to act up more often when it's cooler with moist air, but it just bogged down and spit and sputtered yesterday while it was 80 deg., dry and sunny. Has anyone here found a solution? I'm going to have a friend data log it while driving down the road to see if there's anything obvious.
