What is your question?
Ok so, i have a 1997 Dodge Ram 4x4 with a 5.2L V8 automatic. And i just replaced the transmission, but i haven't been able to start it or drive it yet because for some reason when i go to shift it from (P)park to (R)reverse and then (N)nutural to (D)drive then (2nd) to (1st) it shifts WAY to easy. And doesn't feel like its really shifting at all. But all of the linkages are hooked up tho. And then i go to put it all the way back up to (P)park it makes a clunking sound each time that i shift it from (1st) back up to (P)park. And it sounds like the clunking noise is on the firewall like by the steering column. Does anybody have any idea what it could be? Please let me know. Thank you!

Good morning 'Daves97DodgeRam'.......... Ralph dba Kansas Avenue Auto Center here. Regarding your 1997 Dodge Ram 4x4 with a 5.2L V8 & automatic trans; You say 'I just replaced tranny now wont shift properly' What was the reason for replacement ?? Rebuilt or used Transmission ?? Has the vehicle been scanned ?? With vehicle parked on level ground; What is the transmission fluid level with engine off ?? Does the level drop when the engine is started ?? Please feel free to call us @ 209-575-3366 Ralph
Ok UPDATE!! i replaced the tranny because the tranny was no good. So i went to pick N pool and pulled The transmission out of the same exact truck, the only difference was that it was a 96 not 97. But everything is the same on it. So i got it to drive now but will only drive when its in 4Low but have to rev it up untill a certain rpm's before it engages and then starts driving. And when i put it into 2High and try to drive it, it just sits there and does nothing. And then if i try to put it into (P)park then it sounds like grinding and wont go into (P)park. But when im in 4Low it will go into (P)park with no problem and it will Drive and Reverse no problem. But only in 4Low. Have any idea's?
