4x4 tranmission

When my '95 Dodge diesel 4X4 transfer case seems to jam up, I have to back up in 4wd and that usually frees it. The problem is that the front and rear differentials turn at slightly different rates while driving and put a lot of opposing torque on the transfer case and lock it up until you back up some to release the torque.
