had an issue with car last year and found out it was the EMC, replaced last year w/ a after market unit which worked all year. I put 30k last year on it. After bring it to mechanic which replaced all the normal stuff( dist. cap - both positioning sensors ) I still had no spark so the EMC was last thing to buy. I bought another one from the same vendor and installed but took time to get car strted. then the car just wldnt start i called them back and sent me another one. I installed new one and same issue

Hello, By "EMC" I'm guessing you are talking about the engine control module, and it is easy to bend or break a pin when the connector has been removed several times. If the pins are good, and the rest of the system seems functional, put it to the test. Test the fuel pressure at the engine, test the ignition coils (there are methods online, so choose the one that works best for your/your tools), test all fuses and relays, ensure the battery is fully charged, and make sure the ECM is sending signals to fire injectors and coils. If you are missing spark, make sure the wiring harness was not damaged in any place also. Any stored trouble codes on the new or old ECM?
