how do you remove the front brake pads?

What is your question?

they have large teeth on the ends of the pads and are clipped in place. You cannot just pull them out of the caliper. It looks like you have to seperate the knuckle from the plungers with the two pins. Why? I have never had to do that before. It seems like it would not be wise to pull them apart.
