2001 ram van 1500 w/318 died, cranks but no run

Thanks for the reply! You mentioned the cat, wouldn't it still start, but not run well or long if it was clogged? Will pull the dog house today for more checks on ignition system. Mike T

yes, do the ignition first. if you find nothing or if it has spark, we just unbolt the head pipe at the mainifolds and see if it will run. that will confirm the clogged cats. Roy

Thanks again Roy, Is there a preferred sequence for checking ignition components on this engine? It's been about 20 years since I taught Auto Shop! The basics are still the same, just newer Technology makes it harder to diagnose! Mike T

start at the plug to verify spark. if not then check the coil for output. if not, then verify voltage to the coil and the pulsating ground side to see if the computer is turning the coil on and off. good luck Roy

Roy this is ashbury from mobile alabama.my 1500 dodge van 5.2. 2001 has no spark and there's no power to coil but will crank.i don't know if there's a in line fuse.iam thinking it is my computer. Don't know what to do next need help
