The instructions for replacement of the heater core show how to remove the dash, you can find it here: http://bit.ly/mitchell_repair_manuals_online
Yes go to a convenient type parts store and look for a book on your car , most of the time their free to look @ or cheap enough to buy , like $20.00 , It's a real FUN job , dealing with them cab forward Dodge's , you might want to get a professional to do the job , if I'm not mistaken the refrigerant needs to be drawn down to get the heater control box out to remove the heater core , see if I guided you in the right direction by looking @ a repair manual , Kevvs
disconnect battery, (to allow caps in air bags to bleed off) disconnect heater & A.C. hoses under hood. remove cap nuts from studs going thru firewall that holds evap case to firewall. remove l & r kick panels loosten 13mm nuts on either side behind kick panels. remove trim panel under steering column and remove nuts holding steering colum to dash.(BE CAREFUL NOT TO BREAK SMALL CABLE ON RIGHT SIDE OF COLUMN THAT CONTROLS SHIFT INDICATOR) disconnect it from column. remove trim from top of dash at base of winshield and remove 5 long screws. dash should be loose now. tie a 3' long peice of 3/16 rope to "ear" on dash down where r side kick panel was and thread other end over visorabove your right ear! now... holding free end of rope... pull down on rope at same time lift up and towards you the bottow of dash. you should have enough room to work evap case out of passenger door. reverse procedure to reinstall. if you have questions call me Mark's Mobile Auto Air 904 885 0807
