I recommend doing a manual oil pressure test, installing a mechanical gauge and testing. Specifications are minimum of 5 psi hot idle and 25 psi to 80 psi at 2500 rpm's.
If you don't know there's a class action lawsuit concerning oil sludging and engine oiling in general on this engine. Google oil pressure problem on a 2.7 Chrysler engine. If you can't find it email me at jmgrhm30@gmail.com. You need to find a repair shop that can do an internal engine flush. I don't mean just putting in a cleaner but using a machine designed to do a internal flush of the engine. You have a sludging problem and it will only get worse. To the point of replacing the engine. The 2.7 engine is not one of Dodges better engines. Also try this. Customer Concern: Oil light flickers on and off at idle. Actual oil pressure is good. Tests/Procedures: 1. Remove the plastic dummy plug in the oil pressure switch connector. 2. Insert a wire to act as a vent for the connector. 3. If no help, replace the oil pressure switch.
The pressure was tested before the new sensor was installed and it passed.
