For some time I heard a whine/mild grind when I shut off the engine

What is your question?

This sound appears to be coming from under the dash or hood around the front passenger area. It sounds like a motor of some kind coming to a stop and lasts for a few seconds as the engine is shutting off. There are no other mechanical symptoms, van has about 120K with a rebuilt engine installed about 30K miles ago. Any ideas?
