P0406 indicates that the voltage at the Exhaust Gas Recirculation valve (EGR) sensor is high. That could be because the sensor has failed and the resistance is too high. Also could be a wiring or connector problem in that circuit. Check for continuity at the sensor, should have some resistance, not be open circuit.
