heater problem

What is your question?

temperature gauge stays within range until I turn on the heater. It then goes all the way up to the highest on guage and problem light comes on. I turn van off,wait a minuet and turn back on. Guage will go to halfway point and stay at normal level. If I turn on heater it will rise again to highest level and warning comes on again.
