Van will not take gas. Belches out. Any ideas? Thanks

Takes a nickles worth of gas then bshuts the gas hose off at the gas station. I changed a small vent hose that was crimped. Still no good. If I put a long neck funnel into the filler tube it seems to take gas but it takes forever.
How long has your 1994 Dodge B250 had this problem?
Several years. Van is garaged for make over.
