Cannot get the old oil filter out. Made 3 trips to auto store for tools. Nothing has worked. Wits end. Please help.
Tried a beater bar. Finally kocked a whole in it. Made 3 trips to auto store but none of the socket/wrenches? they sold me fit. ust no longer know what to try. very frustrating and time-consuming and tiring. Just cannot even get it to turn any.
I take it the filter is pretty well mashed up I dont know how much room you have but if you can get a big pair of channel locks onto the base of the filter you can try that If that doesnt work you can try to ,get a hammer and chisel in the bottom of the filter and try to tap it loose ,just be careful you dont damage the filter housing ,also on some models you can unscrew the threaded part that the filter screws on to that way you will get the filter and housing off together
