What is your question?
occasionally while I’m driving down the road my driver side sliding door will make the sound of the automatic door trying to open. It will do this repeatedly for a period of time. I can reach back and pull on the interior door handle to make it stop, But that doesn’t last very long. When I hit a bump the automatic door will try to engage. When I close the door it will continue to try and re-open on its own when I am parked. The only way to get it to stop is by pulling on the interior door handle. The door while parked will occasionally try to open the driver side sliding door with no cause. I can’t lock my door because that sets off the car alarm.
What makes this problem better or worse?
Engaging the interior door handle appears to make it better. Going over bumps appears to make it worse. And I am totally at a loss for what causes it when the car is parked and empty.
How long has your 2012 Chrysler Town & Country had this problem?
It started about a year ago. The door opening when the car is parked and empty has been a problem for over 6 months.

Hello, check your owners guide, but I don't believe there is a way to stop the electronic opening function from happening. I know you can manually override, but I'm not sure you can shut it off. Your owners manual will tell you. Ultimately, what needs to happen is the mechanism will require diagnosis and repairs. It's not like you can shut off a feature that isn't working properly and continue to move along. The vehicle was built to operate a certain way, and once something fails, it must be resolved.
