If the cabin air filter is installed backwards or I'm not sure if it fanned out all the way when I put it in will that cause any problems?

HI, Backwards? It should only fit correctly, one way. Upside down would cause trouble, and would not be able to reinstalled. Mechanically yours, Audra www.greatbearautoshop.com
