What is your question?
I have had several people tell me Ineed to change the transmission oil. The dealer cost was extremely high but they say they do a better job. Is that true or can other services centers do as good a job?

I found that is right you need to change the flid & filter every 30,000 miles It is very easy for a do it your self project USE ONLY AFT+4 trany fluid cost 12.00 for filter and gasket and 25,00 for 5 qts of ATF+4 Add 3 qt then run car , check fluid, add if needed then run car for 10min recheck fluid add again if needed ps let fluid drain for 20min after you fulley remove the metel pan and gasket Filter just pulls down to get off no screws. If you do a lot of mountian driving change oil more often every 15,000 miles and add an oil cooler to the system
Any good reputable repair facility can do as good of a job as a dealer. The only difference in how much repairs cost is their Labor Rate per hour.
I feel that if you aren't haveing any slippage or shifting problems! And if you are on a budget as a lot of folks are now days.Have an independant transmission specialist give you an estamate and an idea as to what he will do besides change the fluid and filter, and pan gasket.! Dont be afraid to ask for the details about your cars tranny, and what are common faults if any on your model!Ask them to test drive it before serviceing, and wait there untill its done!Fluid and filter changes alone are a great investment toward good driveability and free of future problems. If there are sighns of leakage, anywhere on the unit, nows the time for serviceing!
Any reputable independent shop should not have a problem changing your transmission fluid. Just make sure they use ATF +4. It is 4 quarts for a service fill and 9 quarts for an overhaul fill. Plus they will need to change your transmission filter.
