Car won't shift out of 1st gear happened when speedometer quit working

the tcm has no signal, therefore no shifting. you need to find out why the speedo is not working then the trans should return to normal. Roy

You probbly have a faulty speed input or out senser in the transmission. It tells the computer when to shift the transmission. My guess would be the output senser since thiis also control the speed on your speedometer.TOM

you can take it to advance auto they will hook it up to a machine tells you what to do if your service engine comes on. I was going to put a transmission in and I I did that cause mine didn't change all I had to do is put a sensor on the inlet and outlet took 30 min and 38.00 drives as good as new speed sensor that's all it was good luck
