Causes car to cut off but starts rt back up

Hello, Does the engine make any sounds when it turns off? Any warning? Are there any performance issues or is the check engine light displayed on the instrument cluster? There are several possibilities, so narrowing it down to, at least, the defective system is going to be necessary if there is any chance of finding the cause.
