Estimate repair 2500.00 What caused this? No warning lights before breaks went out. Had breaks in good condition and inspections regularly.

Thick fluid could be from never being changed. The fluid builds up moisture and the rule is every 2-3 yrs full fluid flush and fill. Moisture causes rust and the 2 mix, what color was it? What you can do is take off all the wheels and open up all the bleeder nipples at all 4 wheels and put a container under each. Then suck out the fluid from the master clyinder and fill with fresh. Gravity should pull the fluid thru but you can light depress the pedal(not all the way to the floor, that will cause it to stick and not come back up) and keep doing this to force fresh fluid thru the lines to the wheels. You will need at least one gallon of fluid, not sure how much more but get 3. Keep doing so till it flows clear and then close them off and do a proper bleed for each wheel. Do ck youtube, they have alot of stuff.
