My P.T. Cruiser is doing the same, it is mis-firing, I believe that is what its called, back firing, bucking, stalling as you indicated, all of the above. I've changed the spark plugs and cleaned the fuel injection and it ran for about 2 days then stalled again, this time the check engine light was blinking. Someone said it is either the crankshaft sensor or transmission sensor, what are those and how much do these parts cost?
I just replaced my crankshaft sensor as it was 20 dollars with lifetime warranty from Advance Auto. The code tells you after the computer finds out from the sensor what has failed. Mine gave a code 349 if I remembered correctly. Your code is for what sensor that is bad. The tranmission input and output sensors are on the transmnission directly under the battery. They are plastic and hard to get to unless you go from underneath to service them or remove the lower and upper intake manifolds. I know mine was over kill but just got it used and was changing out things for my own benefit. How capable are you, I changed mine out when I did my crank sensor the same time I did the cam sensor. Ckeck on youtube for way more video and do a search engine for the specific part you are looking for. But you do need to get the code read at your local parts store. if you'd like send me a text at 9192802419.
