What woud be the cause of vibration of the front end while driving on highway.

Driving on highway car starts to vibrate bad, slowed down to pull over and hard to turn wheels. stopped for about 15 minutes and got back on highway was fine for about 5 minutes then got bad again. It does seem to vibrate less when slowing down and more when pushing the accelerator..
