Can I fix trunk lid that won't latch closed or do I have to replace mechanism?

Hello..Tony here Ct..I have 95 New Yorker..The trunk lid mechanism...open using key..or open using.glove compartmrnt...inside..dmall button..ince trunk is opened..notice two bolts holding..mechanism..you have to ope trunk..lift up..sit backwards..looking up at lid loosen mechsnism..thenslide down a bit yowards..ened of lid.tighten..should close fine..when u open..and dlam trunk mechanism..if looseoves away from lick.
